FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots parlayed the second-round draft pick they received in exchange for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo into a package of a lower second-round pick and a fourth-rounder in a deal with the Detroit Lions on Friday night.
The Patriots shipped the 43rd overall pick, which they acquired from the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 31, to the Lions in exchange for the 51st overall pick and No. 117.
The Lions moved up in the draft for the first time under general manager Bob Quinn, trading with his old franchise, New England.
