After the New England Patriots traded linebacker Joshua Uche to the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday, they were left with an open spot on the 53-man roster.
New England filled that hole on Tuesday, signing linebacker Ochaun Mathis from their practice squad.
The Patriots originally signed Mathis, 25, after the Los Angeles Rams released him during roster cuts. He appeared in eight games as a rookie with Los Angeles, recording two tackles. He's been elevated for three games this year, playing mostly on special teams and recording one tackle.
