The New England Patriots opened their mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, and returning to the practice fields was not the only item on the organization’s agenda for the day: finalizing a contract with their lone remaining unsigned rookie also was. As first reported by ESPN’s Field Yates, the Patriots and third-round draft selection Damien Harris have agreed to terms on a four-year contract late on Tuesday evening.
The deal will reportedly be worth a total of $3,631,319 and include a fully guaranteed signing bonus of $886,319. With Harris in the fold, the reigning world champions now have their entire ten-man draft class signed: the club was fairly quick to lock up eight of its selections, but signing Harris and fellow third-rounder Chase Winovich did take longer.
