The practice squad in Foxborough has returned to capacity.
The New England Patriots announced the signing of rookie wide receiver John Jiles on Tuesday, bringing the scout team to 17 players.
Jiles, 24, had been among the free agents at Gillette Stadium for workouts on Sept. 10. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound target entered the NFL as part of the New York Giants’ undrafted class in the spring. He was waived leading up to the league’s roster deadline after logging two receptions for 41 yards in preseason action.
Following stops at Fort Scott Community College and Virginia Union, Jiles finished his run at West Florida in 2023.
