The New England Patriots have to make two important roster moves after placing LB Ja’Whaun Bentley and RB Rex Burkhead on the injured reserve Wednesday morning. They are apparently making one immediate move by signing former Colts and Texans linebacker John Simon, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss and Field Yates.
The Patriots are signing free-agent DE/OLB John Simon, per @FieldYates. The 6-foot-2, 260-pound Simon played in nine games for the Colts last season. He is a six-year veteran out of Ohio State who has some background in Patriots-type system with Houston (2014-2016).
