Between trades and player selections, the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft saw quite a few surprising decisions be made. The New England Patriots were not among the teams going off script, however. The expectation was that they would go offensive tackle early, and they did just that.
With the fourth overall pick, they selected Will Campbell out of LSU, a player to whom they have been connected for a while now. In fact, Campbell entered Thursday as the presumptive favorite to end up in New England as the designated blind side protector for second-year quarterback Drake Maye.
