The New England Patriots will be shorthanded in the secondary on Sunday.

Veteran safety Jabrill Peppers has been downgraded to out for the 1 p.m. ET kickoff against the Miami Dolphins, the organization announced.

Peppers, 29, was listed as questionable on the final injury report of the week. He missed one practice due to a shoulder issue before returning for consecutive sessions as a limited participant.

The first-year defensive captain by way of the Michigan Wolverines has played 93.7 percent of the snaps in 2024 — a rate that stands behind only cornerback Christian Gonzalez.
