The New England Patriots are finally taking a look at some outside help for their tenuous running back depth chart.
The team hosted David Cobb, a fifth round pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2015, for a workout Friday, according to ESPN's Field Yates. The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe added that no signing is imminent, and that the Patriots will wait and see what other options are available as roster cuts continue.
Cobb, a big back at 5-foot-1, 225 pounds, had a productive career at Minnesota as a consistent between-the-tackles runner. However, what has has in power, he lacks in explosiveness and speed, leading to his fall toward the end of the draft last year.
