Patriots safety Patrick Chung considered retirement this offseason before ultimately signing a two-year extension with New England, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Chung, 32, will remain with the Patriots through 2023 after agreeing to his new contract Wednesday. The veteran will receive a $3 million signing bonus and is now due up to $12.8 million over the next four years, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
Except for one season he spent in Philadelphia in 2013, Chung has been with the Patriots since 2009, when they took him with the 34th overall pick out of Oregon.
