Patriots Rumors: Controversial Coach Was ‘Top Candidate’ For OC

The New England Patriots reportedly considered making an off-the-grid move when filling out their coaching staff.

Eric Bieniemy interviewed for the club’s offensive coordinator opening before it went to Josh McDaniels, according to Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. Bieniemy was a “top candidate” for the job had there not already been an obvious choice, according to Schultz, and his talks with other teams are ongoing.

Bieniemy, 55, saw his career come to life as the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2018 to 2022, winning a pair of championships during that tenure and consistently receiving head coach interviews.
