The New England Patriots will be shorthanded when they take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 17 on Saturday.
The team ruled out cornerback Marcus Jones as he deals with a hip injury. Jones didn’t practice on Tuesday or Thursday. It’s likely the Patriots will elevate someone from their practice squad to take his place.
New England also had 10 other players questionable including Kyle Dugger (ankle), Jabrill Peppers (hamstring) and Cole Strange (knee), though it’s possible Strange is the Patriots’ starting center come Saturday — an opportunity he said he’s fired up about.
