Despite finding himself in a battle for only the third spot on the quarterback depth chart, Joe Milton has been a player to watch at New England Patriots training camp so far. Between his otherworldly arm skills and occasional back flips, he has shown a talent for hyping up the crowd at practice.
His preseason debut was more of the same. In his 20 offensive snaps against the Carolina Panthers, Milton managed to stand out due to his combination of energy and playmaking talent.
Taking over with the score 7-0 in the Patriots’ favor late in the third quarter, he managed to lead two scoring drives in two opportunities before kneeling out the 17-3 victory.
