FOXBORO — The opportunities ahead for offensive linemen Shaq Mason and Tre’ Jackson remain plentiful as they begin their rookie seasons with the Patriots.
However, don’t expect them to speak much about the chance for early playing time – or even, as the case may be, a starting job – as that maiden voyage in Foxboro begins. During Thursday’s interviews with the media at Gillette Stadium, the two kept the conversation hovered strictly around individual improvement and helping the team achieve its goals.
“I’m just focused on each and every day, just trying to get better,” said Mason, an interior lineman out of Georgia Tech, when asked about the possible opportunity of winning a starting job.
