"Listen man, if you’re not going to be here to help and lead the group, you’re going to have to leave.”
A sophomore in 2016, Dugger was already the most talented player on the Lenoir-Rhyne roster, but after just one game, he was sidelined for the season with a meniscus tear.
The Bears’ most impactful defensive back, Dugger had been named the South Atlantic Conference’s defensive freshman of the year a season before and was growing into a lethal punt returner.
