A familiar face returned to the New England Patriots’ practice squad on Wednesday.
New England has signed interior offensive lineman Jake Eldrenkamp to the group of 16, according to Pro Football Focus’ Doug Kyed.
Eldrenkamp, 27, had previously reached a futures contract with the Patriots in February 2019. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Washington Huskies product would be waived during organized team activities three months later and claimed by the Indianapolis Colts, with whom he appeared in two games last season on special teams.
Originally entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2017, Eldrenkamp made previous stops with the Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns.
