The Patriots are releasing linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley, according to multiple reports.
Bentley posted a message on social media platform X thanking New England for his time with the franchise.
“New England Thank You for Everything It’s Been a Blessing,” Bentley wrote.
The Patriots drafted Bentley out of Purdue in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL draft. He was a rookie on the Patriots’ Super Bowl LII championship team.
The 6-foot-2, 250-pound linebacker posted 509 tackles, 10.5 sacks, four fumble recoveries, and a pair of interceptions during seven seasons with the Patriots.
