The New England Patriots met with Texas edge defender Barryn Sorrell, per The Draft Network’s Ryan Fowler.
It makes sense considering edge rusher is a clear need for a Patriots team that has worked hard to beef up the defense in the offseason. However, they could still use a reliable pass rusher to put some heat on opposing quarterbacks, which is something they struggled to do consistently last season.
Sorrell recorded 44 tackles, six sacks and 11 tackles for a loss with the Longhorns in 2024. In his Texas career, he has recorded 132 combined tackles, 15.
