Patriots reportedly hire Tony Dews as running backs coach

Just one day after re-hiring Josh McDaniels as their next offensive coordinator, the New England Patriots have brought in their first position coach on that side of the ball. Tony Dews will come to Foxboro to coach running backs in 2025, according to a report by Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic.

Dews, 51, has not worked with McDaniels before. He does, however, have extensive experience with new Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel: he was an assistant under Vrabel throughout his six-year stint as Tennessee Titans head coach.

Originally joining the Titans in 2018, he worked with a running back group headlined by All-Pro and NFL Offensive Player of the Year Derrick Henry for the first five seasons of his tenure.
