Just a few days after the Patriots announced the hiring of their three top coordinators under head coach Jerod Mayo, New England is reportedly filling out the rest of its coaching staff.
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Patriots hired Packers defensive-line coach and run-game coordinator Jerry Montgomery, who had served on Green Bay’s defensive staff since 2015.
The 44-year-old Montgomery has been Green Bay’s D-line coach and run-game coordinator for the past two seasons and could serve a similar role in New England.
Former Patriots defensive-line coach DeMarcus Covington was promoted as the team’s defensive coordinator last week, creating a vacancy at his former spot on Mayo’s coaching staff.
