The Patriots have already reunited with a pair of familiar faces with their coaching hires this offseason. They might add another coach with previous ties to the team to help round out the coaching staff.
Wes Welker is among the candidates the Patriots are considering to hire for their next wide receivers coach, ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported in his Sunday notes column. Welker most recently served as the wide receivers coach for the Dolphins, holding that role for the last three seasons before getting fired in January.
Of course, Welker came to prominence as a player during his six seasons (2007-12) in New England.
