The New England Patriots were awarded tight end Kahale Warring off waivers from the Houston Texans on Tuesday afternoon, as first reported by NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero.
Warring, 24, entered the league in the third round of the 2019 draft out of San Diego State. Pick No. 86 overall spent his rookie season on injured reserve due to a concussion and appeared in seven games last year with Houston, catching three passes for 35 yards after being activated from injured reserve in November.
General manager Nick Caserio’s Texans waived Warring on Monday in advance of the NFL’s 80-man roster deadline.
