Patriots Reportedly Agree To Extension With Davon Godchaux

The New England Patriots reportedly have satisfied one of their defenders looking for a new contract.

New England has agreed to terms with defensive tackle Davon Godchaux on a two-year extension worth up to $21 million with $16.5 million guaranteed, as first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Godchaux confirmed his displeasure regarding his “frustrating” contract situation when he spoke to reporters during training camp last week. He was entering the final year of his deal with a $7.15 million base salary.

Godchaux even went as far as to name-drop two players — Indianapolis Colts’ Grover Stewart and Cleveland Browns’ Dalvin Thompson — while hinting at the financial commitment he was hoping to receive.
