Calvin Anderson’s stint on injured reserve has ended the same week as it began.
The New England Patriots announced the veteran offensive tackle’s release on Friday. The injury settlement affords him the opportunity to become a free agent and take the field again in 2024.
Anderson, 28, had been placed on injured reserve at the NFL’s 53-man roster deadline on Tuesday. He did not play in the preseason finale versus the Washington Commanders after totaling 53 offensive snaps through the previous August appearances.
Originally signing as an undrafted rookie in 2019, the swing bookend out of Rice and Texas has also made stops with New York Jets and Denver Broncos during his NFL tenure.
