The New England Patriots added to their front seven on Friday, claiming defensive end Yannick Ngakoue off waivers, but they needed to make another transaction fit the former Pro Bowler on the roster.
On Friday night, New England announced that they released veteran linebacker Raekwon McMillan as the corresponding move.
McMillan, 28, played collegiately at Ohio State where he was First-team All-Big Ten twice, Second-team All-American once and a national champion in 2014.
The Miami Dolphins selected him in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft, and he spent three seasons in South Beach before being traded to the Las Vegas Raiders.
