Later today, the New England Patriots will play the New Orleans Saints in week two of the NFL's 2017 regular season. Leading up to the game, the team has made two moves yesterday evening: One was downgrading special teams ace Nate Ebner to “out” for the contest, the second was releasing a player from the practice squad.
The practice squad player in question is guard Willie Beavers, whose release creates an open spot on the 10-man practice squad. Beaver was originally signed by New England on September 4 and has been on the practice squad ever since.
