A spot on the practice squad in Foxborough has reopened.
The New England Patriots announced the release of long snapper Tucker Addington on Tuesday, ending his third stint.
Addington, 27, returned to the organization midway through October. From there, he served as a standard elevation against the Houston Texans as special teams captain Joe Cardona was downgraded from questionable to out. Nine snaps followed between punts and extra points before reverting.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Addington had re-signed during training camp in August and cleared waivers at the NFL’s 53-man roster deadline.
