Patriots Release Little-Known Special Teamer After Loss Vs. Jaguars

The New England Patriots on Tuesday announced they released long snapper Tucker Addington from the team’s practice squad.

Addington was elevated to the active roster when New England hosted the Houston Texans in Week 6. The 27-year-old filled in for captain and starting long snapper Joe Cardona, who was inactive due to personal reasons after he appeared on the injury report earlier in the week.

Addington spent part of training camp with New England but was released ahead of the 53-man roster cutdown. He re-signed to the team’s practice squad on Oct. 11, two days before he took the field at Gillette Stadium.
