The Patriots are moving on from Sione Takitaki.
The team announced Wednesday they had released the 29-year-old linebacker, who was signed as a free agent last season.
With Patriots Hall of Fame linebacker Mike Vrabel taking over as head coach, there figured to be some changes and revamping of the position.
Takitaki began his career in Cleveland. He was a third-round pick, spending his first five seasons with the Browns.
After arriving in New England, Takitaki was immediately set back by injury.
He played in 11 games with four starts.
