BOSTON (AP) -- The New England Patriots have released linebacker Darius Fleming.
The team announced the move Friday. The 26-year-old bounced between the Patriots' practice squad and 53-man roster during the last two seasons.
Fleming appeared in six regular season games and both playoff games this past season for New England. He had seven tackles.
His release saves the Patriots about $675,000 he was scheduled to make in 2016.
