The team made the announcement on Wednesday, announcing that the club will be wearing them during select games this season.
According to a post from the team’s official site, it was the Patriots who quietly led the charge to bring them back after the league had initially hit pause on the practice back in 2013 to improve player safety. At the time, that rule change required that every club stick to one helmet, and the silver helmets didn’t fit well with the red uniforms.
