WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. — The Patriots and Saints will lock horns today in the first of two joint practice sessions at The Greenbrier resort as a precursor to Saturday’s preseason game in New Orleans.
Bill Belichick seems to enjoy putting his players in what have become annual joint workouts and breaking up the monotony of training camp by testing them against some unfamiliar competition. Seeing how they perform against different matchups and different schemes than what they’ve faced the past few weeks allows for better evaluation, Belichick said.
The intensity gets dialed up, and there’s plenty of storylines to focus on during the two days of practices.
