The Patriots have begun their organized team activities today at Gillette Stadium, and a familiar face has joined them.
Linebacker Dane Fletcher has signed a one-year deal with the Patriots, according to ESPN Boston and NFL Network. Fletcher, who played for the Pats from 2010-13 before a one-year stint with the Buccaneers, visited the Patriots on May 6, and it appeared a signing was likely. However, they signed Dekoda Watson on May 12 and re-signed Brandon Spikes on May 18, so it's unclear why there might have been a holdup.
Regardless, the Patriots have stocked up the depth chart behind Jerod Mayo (torn patellar tendon), Dont'a Hightower (torn shoulder labrum) and Jamie Collins.
