Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount ruled out with left hip injury

HOUSTON -- New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount left Sunday night's game against the Houston Texans with a left hip injury in the second quarter, and his return was ruled out by the team.

Blount was injured on a 6-yard run with 8:14 remaining in the second quarter, and as he lay prone on the ground, members of the Patriots' athletic training and medical staff flexed his leg as they worked on his hip.

Blount then walked off under his own power and then to the locker room.

He had been productive up to that point, with 10 carries for 53 yards.
