FOXBOROUGH — If anything positive can be drawn from Sunday's horror show against Philadelphia, it's that Tom Brady can trust James White as a pass-catching back in the Patriots offense.
White had 10 catches for 115 yards, including a 25-yard gain on a 4th-and-12 in the fourth quarter. As Tom Brady escaped the pocket, White took his route downfield and hauled in a pass, keeping the New England drive alive. The Pats soon added a touchdown to pull within seven points, 35-28.
On Sunday, Brady said White would have a "significant role" going forward.
"I know what my role is on this team," White said Monday at his locker.
