New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s trophy case is already legendary: the 41-year-old already owns five (soon-to-be six) Super Bowl championship rings, four Super Bowl MVP trophies, three league MVP awards, fourteen Pro Bowl nominations, two NFL Offensive Player of the Year honors, and a Comeback Player of the Year award, among countless other honors bestowed upon him. Now, he can add another one — at least indirectly.
The documentary series Tom vs. Time, which chronicled Brady’s preparation for and during the Patriots’ 2017 season, has won the Sports Emmy for ‘Outstanding Serialized Sports Documentary’ on Monday night:
The series premiered on Facebook Watch in January of last year, midway during the Patriots’ playoff run, and followed Brady over six episodes and an epilogue: it captured his balance between getting ready for the season and his family commitments, and followed him through the highs and lows of what ultimately turned out to be a year ending in a Super Bowl loss.
