New England Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett was "surprised" to be named team captain, and he indicated he would not take the honor for granted.
Brissett was signed by the Patriots back in March to add veteran experience to a young room that also includes rookies Drake Maye and Joe Milton III. He was named the starting quarterback for the opener against the Cincinnati Bengals with Maye still in the early, developmental stages of his career.
Along with the starter title, he gets to add Patriots team captain to his resume. He spoke to reporters about what being bestowed that title meant to him
