The New England Patriots were supposed to play the Denver Broncos on Monday after they were supposed to play them on Sunday. But another positive COVID-19 test on Sunday prompted the NFL to reschedule the game again, pushing it back until Oct. 18.
On Monday, the Patriots put another player on reserve/COVID-19 -- former Auburn defensive lineman Byron Cowart.
The positive test for New England quarterback Cam Newton sent Auburn’s 2010 Heisman Trophy winner to reserve/COVID-19 on Oct. 3 and caused the Patriots' Oct. 4 game against the Kansas City Chiefs to be delayed for a day.
