Patriots plan to be aggressive around NFL roster cutdown day, says Eliot Wolf

Finishing a season with a 4-13 record does have a few perks. For the New England Patriots, it meant picking third in the NFL Draft and being in a position to secure a potential franchise quarterback; Drake Maye may or may not become the team’s starter in 2024 but he keeps showing his potential and seemingly remains alive in the QB competition.

Besides drafting Maye in April, the Patriots could again take advantage of their status as one of the worst teams in football last season later this month. When teams will cut their rosters from 90 to 53 players, they are in prime position to pick their targets.
