Patriots plan to add depth at OT by promoting Cameron Fleming

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots plan to promote offensive tackle Cameron Fleming from their practice squad, adding depth after starting left tackle Nate Solder was placed on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday.

Fleming, a 2014 fourth-round draft out of Stanford, played in seven games last season for the Patriots as he spent the entire year on the 53-man roster. He has been on the team's practice squad this season.

The 6-foot-6, 320-pound Fleming is most effective as an end-of-the-line player, either as a right tackle or extra tight end in a run-blocking role. He had some of his greatest success last season against the Colts, playing a season-high 37 snaps against them in the regular season and another 28 against Indianapolis in the playoffs.
