FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots worked out linebackers Trevor Reilly and Reshard Cliett over the last two days, signing Reilly to their practice squad in a rare Thursday move that highlights a run of injuries at the position and a need for additional depth for practice purposes.
The personnel activity comes on the heels of starting linebacker Jamie Collins (hip) missing Sunday's win over the Cincinnati Bengals, and his replacement, rookie Elandon Roberts, being added to the injury report Wednesday as a limited participant in practice (ankle).
Jonathan Freeny usually would be part of that mix as well, but he was placed on injured reserve Oct.
