The New England Patriots officially signed veteran offensive lineman James Ferentz to the 53-man roster on Wednesday, according to the NFL transaction wire.
Ferentz has appeared in three games since the calendar turned to October, twice serving as a standard elevation and once serving as a Covid-19 replacement to total 134 snaps.
The 32-year-old Iowa product started at left guard against the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys. He then rotated in at right guard last Sunday against the New York Jets. Entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2014, Ferentz, a two-time Super Bowl champion, has been in New England’s fold since 2017.
