The New England Patriots announced the placement of Henry Anderson on injured reserve Wednesday afternoon.
An MRI confirmed a season-ending pectoral tear for the veteran defensive lineman, who exited New England’s 19-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday after playing three snaps on defense and three snaps on special teams.
Anderson, 30, had agreed to terms with the Patriots on a two-year, $7 million contract in March.
The Stanford product entered the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts in the third round of the 2015 draft and was acquired by the New York Jets during the 2018 draft.
