The Patriots championship secondary is no longer recognizable. First, corners Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner left in free agency. Now, the team has released slot corner Kyle Arrington. That’s three starters out the door.
The defensive backfield was already a question mark heading into the season given the initial losses of Revis and Browner, but this just adds more uncertainty going forward.
Arrington was due to earn $3 million this season ($4.625 million against the cap) and $3.5 million next. It’s possible the team might want him back at a reduced rate.
