FOXBORO — Patriots owner Robert Kraft, on hand yesterday for the annual Myra Kraft MVP awards luncheon at Gillette Stadium, avoided discussing Deflategate or the amicus brief the team filed with in federal court on behalf of Tom Brady, which slammed NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
Asked point blank about the message he was sending, Kraft kindly side-stepped the issue.
“I appreciate you asking that question, and I respect it, but today, we’re celebrating volunteerism,” Kraft said. “We’re excited football’s back, seeing these guys work out. We’re going to try to keep all of our discussions today on a high plain in the spirit of what this day’s about.
