NORTH ATTLEBORO — According to Robert Kraft, this is a good year to have a lot of picks.
The Patriots have nine going into tonight’s first round of the NFL draft, and the owner seemed optimistic after speaking yesterday at a North Attleboro middle school.
A year ago, the Pats also made nine selections and were able to draft starting center Bryan Stork out of Florida State in the fourth round and Eastern Illinois’ Jimmy Garoppolo — potentially their next franchise quarterback — in the second.
“That you never know what’s going to happen,” Kraft said at an event honoring students who raised money for Hoops for Heart, an American Heart Association charity.
