Patriots Notebook: Kline's persistence pays off

FOXBORO — Josh Kline’s early-career ascension has been very similar to that of Dan Connolly and Ryan Wendell. The Patriots can only hope Kline’s arc continues.

Kline, 25, joined the Pats as an undrafted free agent in 2013 and was released twice before getting called up to the 53-man roster for good in November 2013. He started once late in December when Nate Solder was out with a concussion and Logan Mankins kicked out to left tackle, and Kline made four starts in 2014 and has gotten the most playing time this season out of the three-guard rotation.
