FOXBORO — It’s not too hard to imagine what kind of reception the Patriots received from Bill Belichick yesterday when they returned to Gillette Stadium just hours after their season-opening loss to the Chiefs.
Linebacker Kyle Van Noy made it pretty clear.
“What do you think?” he said.
“Not fun. But good coaching points, and I think we can all learn from it. There’s not one person in the defensive meeting room that thought they played well. Everyone holds their selves to a high standard here.”
That goes for not just the defense, but the rest of the team after the Chiefs spoiled the Patriots’ banner night, running away in the second half for a 42-27 victory.
