The New England Patriots want to run the football this season. Head coach Jerod Mayo said just that prior to Monday’s training camp practice — a message that has reached his team.
“We got to run the ball, stop the run and cover kicks,” Rhamondre Stevenson said following Tuesday’s practice. “That’s tough football.”
Tough football will lead to another busy season for Stevenson, who has been the team’s top offensive playmaker over the past two seasons. But now in offensive coordintor Alex Van Pelt’s offense, he’ll get to do so in his preferred running scheme.
