The New England Patriots made their first in-season trade of the year on Monday, sending linebacker Joshua Uche to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
News of the trade wasn't totally shocking, considering reports that teams were inquiring about Uche's services and the fact that he'll become a free agent at the end of the season.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time New England discussed trading the former second-round pick.
According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, the Patriots "came very close" to sending Uche to the Seattle Seahawks last year when Bill Belichick was still in charge.
