Patriots miss on free agent veteran OT, but how interested were they?

Free agent offensive tackle Cam Robinson agreed to a one-year deal with the Houston Texans on Wednesday. That took another potential veteran left tackle off the table for the New England Patriots, who clearly had the money to spend at the position.

Many were left wondering why the team never made more of an effort to bring Robinson to New England to help fill the role of blindside protector for quarterback Drake Maye.

According to the Boston Sports Journal's Mike Giardi, the Patriots "never did the left tackle dance" with Robinson.

They already have an inside source on the player in offensive line coach Doug Marrone, who was the Jacksonville Jaguars head coach when the team drafted Robinson in 2017.
